Lack of Latinos
There were only 1,733 Latinos living in the city of Columbia according to the 2000 U.S. census. I knew there weren't a lot of Latinos in CoMo, but I had no idea it was that low. Using growth projection data I found at the Pew Hispanic Center for Boone County (the county that encompasses Columbia), I estimate the current Latino population in CoMo is around 2,686. That's a little more the number of students that attended my high school.
I expected the number to be around 3,000 at least. Especially in city with a population of 94,428. Columbia is definitely lacking in the area of Latinos. *Sigh* I need to move.
Indeed! Drop MO like it's hot! And come back to Tejas. We miss you.
ReplyDeleteAnd I miss Tejas! And Latinos. Especially hot Latino men. As you can imagine, they're hard to come by here.
